I get takeout here at least once a week. All the takeout I get is delicious and a great value. There chicken with eggplant is so good and there beef chow fun excellent. Very quick service never had to wait too long , accurate and I've never been disappointed.

I can't say it's the best in the area but it's the best I've been to for Chinese. Hot & Sour Soup made the right way. They understand English. That's something they don't do in philly unless the teenage kids are taking orders. It's clean and stuff too. I have a problem with the Spring rolls. They're made from scratch and it's awful that way.

Great lunch special with a lot of food for the value. Close to my office so will be getting the lunch specials a few times a month from now on. There really aren't that many options in the area that do it right, this place seems to blow the others out of the water. But the lack of delivery is annoying.

Great food, great service, great prices, CONSISTENT over time. We have been getting Chinese food here for at least 15 years. The lady who takes the orders over the phone is very very smart and has a nearly photographic memory for orders. I have eaten in and taken out. Always great!

Ordered some take out from this local Elkins Park chinese restaurant on a Saturday while working. The menu is fairly standard, save for an entire vegetarian menu with fake meat a plenty. The hot and sour soup was decent, a bit too thick and more on the sour side, but still pretty good. I also tried the house special wonton soup. Surprisingly, the broth was low in salt?!?! I know, crazy. The wontons were filled with meh pork. I'd love wontons filled with dumpling ingredients, oh well i'll dream on. Chicken with black bean sauce was okay as well. The vegetables were the best part, the chicken was exceedingly soft and sort of just melted in your mouth, but not in a good way. It was still tasty, but I also had a significant panging for some chinese and would have eaten anything. If you're in the area its not a bad choice, far from the best, but generally will satisfy most people. The staff is very nice and the food was hot and prepared promptly.

I went there with a bigger group, and everyone else liked their food. However, in my case, I require gluten-free, and I was unpleasantly surprised to learn they do not have gluten-free soy sauce available at this restaurant, which I find inexplicable. Soy sauce is used in so much Chinese cooking, not having the gluten-free variety available really limited what I was able to order.

Food is consistently good and the service is great. I have tried more than half of the items on the menu which is typically large as most suburban Chinese restaurants are. I have not found a single dish that was not well prepared and served at the right temperature.

I mainly eat take out from Szechuan Mandarin - they are less then a mile from our home. On the 2 dozen times we have eaten there (as opposed to carry out, which we do 3-4 times a month) since 1997 or so the service has been great and the food was about the same as carry out. For years the food has been very good - not quite as good as Mandarin Garden in Willow Grove, but good none the less. Recently the food has gotten spotty up and down - the folks at the desk are different so it looks like there is new staff, perhaps new owners, perhaps the chef moved on as well, perhaps other things occurred - About a month ago we got carry out. My wife and I threw out most of the food after the cat declined it. It has been up and down since then its never been as bad as that time but it's not what it once was. China Keng the kind of grungy place up 611 in Jenkintown is now almost as good not due to China Keng getting better either. Szechuan Mandarin is still quite OK, but the value equation is quite different now that the quality has taken a dive. I sure hope that this place, a place I would have given 4 stars not too long ago reverses their slide into the lousy Chinese food abyss. They do the standards fine - egg drop, wonton, and hot and sour soup, egg rolls, spring rolls, dumplings (pork, chicken, and vegi) lo mein, beef or chicken with broc, chow fun, Singapore chow Mai fun they do this with chow fun at my request - I like chow fun! Ma po tofu is fine, general tso's is great and they usually have specials for the season that are fine too. The last time I went - this afternoon our 2 lunch specials were both cooked fine but the portions were tiny! Perhaps the new folks will find their stride in time...

The food is is great. I order take out at least twice a month, often around 10pm, and every time the meat is succulent and perfectly seasoned, the veggies are always fresh and crisp. Food is always piping hot and delicious. Staff is very friendly and It has never taken them more than 15 minutes to make the meal. Highly reccommend!

Having lived within walking distance of Chinatown for 20 years, we were thrilled to find such amazing food in Elkins Park. And they will spice up anything. Love their sesame chicken, hot (have to ask), and crab Rangoon, and moo shoo anything!! Specials are great too! Only downside is no delivery but pickup is prompt and plenty of parking.

Oh no! This place has taken such a downhill slide! Once it was owned by the folks who now have the wonderful Jasmine Asian Bistro in Glenside. it was awesome! After they moved on it was still pretty reasonable. Today was a horrific experience. The wonton broth tasted like warm salt water. The service was non-existent. Could not raise a waitress once I was served. The egg roll was greasy, bland and half empty. The worst was the chicken and walnuts with plum sauce- raw peppers, mushy chicken, no plum sauce, water chestnuts that tasted of the can-- never even rinsed. No flavor, stale rancid walnuts. As I paid, I said, " that was awful! you guys have really slipped! The cashier smiled brightly and thanked me very much. I will not try again! I don't know when it got so bad, but I think it is very recent.

WE have been getting take-out from this restaurant often for at least 10 years. The food was very good years go, but since the management changed the food has been inconsistent. Sometimes good, but sometimes soggy, greasy, pasty tasting, or dried out and hard to cut. The last time the food was terrible. It seemed like the food had been reheated a few times, but since it was for take out, they used old food instead of preparing fresh food. I won't go back.

This is our local "go-to" Chinese place. The food is good and if you sit at the restaurant the seating is comfortable.

I don't understand the good ratings people give this place, the food is bland and the prices are high. Because it is close to our home, we have had takeout from here 3-4 times and despite trying new things each time, nothing has been tasty. You could probably get the same flavors and textures from frozen Chinese food.

My favorite local chinese food. Great fried rice, eggrolls and wonton soup as well as BBQ ribs. I'd go more often if it was in my budget. Never disappointing.

The food was not bad but the service is terrible. They consistently mess up my orders. Last time mushroom was missing from my dish and she asked me to drive to come and get some. I said no you should really give me a free dish for next time but she said she is happy with her customers.

An ok take out place, quick service, standard menu. The best thing on the menu is the meat steamed dumplings- probably the best I've ever had! However, the rice/noodle dishes are inconsistent.....When I order Chow Fun and Lo Mein, it is burned 1/3 of the time. The main entrees are typical take-out quality.

My favorite chinese place......Love the Sweet N Sour Chicken and the Cashew Chicken!! Best Won Ton Soup too!! Wait staff is pleasant and service is quick. Take out is wonderful too!! A little bit more expensive than other places, but the atmosphere is lovely and it is definitely worth it!!!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
